Andy and Rick drove to Askov, MN, and rode 138 miles
Trails were in great shape and it was an awesome ride
Monday, March 11th:
Mark Haanpaa and Rick drove to Askov, MN, and rode 108 miles
Trails were in fair shape, so not as many miles were put on. Otherwise a good ride.
Sunday, March 17th:
Mark and Rick drove to Askov, MN, and rode 127 miles
Trails were in rough shape, with some good spots here and there
Highlight: seeing a young black bear on the trail, our first wild bear EVER!
Saturday, March 23rd:
Mike and Rick drove to Askov, MN, where we met Wayne, and rode 136 miles
Trails were in good to poor shape, so got a decent ride in
After the ride, Mike and Rick drove to Houghton, MI
Highlight: sitting in the parking lot of a gas station trying to cut and rewire the wires between the truck and trailer. Ended up getting the trailer lights to work, but in the process, disabled the right blinker and brake light on the truck. Needless to say, we ended up getting to Houghton around 1:00 am EST!
Sunday, March 24th:
Mike and Rick hit the trails around 11:00am, and rode 206 miles
Trails were frickin' awesome! There was a lot of snow, so that meant a lot of riding.
Monday, March 25th:
Mike and Rick hit the trails around 10:30am, and rode 170 miles
Trails were in awesome shape again. Did a lot of flat and straight riding, but also had some great single track riding.
Highlight: since Rick complained the night before about not seeing any wildlife, ended up seeing about 30 deer and 1 coyote. We came across so many deer, that on one occasion, we both came within 10 feet of laying one across our sleds. Needless to say, those incidents kept us on our toes the rest of the day!
